Take Cover
An unforgettable day at the Oceano Dunes. The wind was howling as rain showers rolled in which made for some awesome photography.
Beautiful in Bronze
My first visit to the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley National Park. I hope to return to these picturesque dunes someday as the compostions are endless.
Pyramids of Death Valley
A visually striking peak in Death Valley. In the two days I explored these dunes this was a repeated dune I tried to frame in many different compostions. I love the contrast between light and shadow in this shot.
Sandstorm
This photo was taken with my eyes closed. At this moment the winds were gusting 40+ miles per hour. It was hard to stand as my body was being pelted by sand. These were by far the most intense conditions I have ever photographed in.
Incoming
An incoming rain storm on the horizon. These bands of rain would push through with intense wind and rain, followed by a lull period of warm sunlight.
Rainy Skies
The last light at the Oceano Dunes. There was a rain storm in the distance and the sunset created some awesome hues of blue, purple and pink in the sky. I love the color palette of this photo.
Shadows Edge
Snappped when I first arrived at the Ocean Dunes. The Dunes had recently been rained on which created some interesting patterns on the sand.
Glow of Oceano
An absolue gem of an evening at the Oceano Dunes. The wind was slightly blowing sand across the rain soaked dunes.
Dignified
A stout sand dune catching sunset light. Taken in Death Valley.
Slithering Sands
I love the textures and shape of the sand in the foreground of this photo. As the name suggests, it reminds me of slithering snakes.
Pastel Dunes
Soft light on the Oceano Dunes. I love the rolling hills and soft pastel hues in this photo.
Fading Light
I took some liberties with this edit, but I loved the parallel shapes and spots of light hitting the dunes just before sunset .
Mountains of Sand
Two massive mountain shaped dunes framing some of the largest dunes in Death Valley. I enjoy the sense of depth and scale this photo conveys.

Storm on the Horizon
Dark clouds loomed as wind blew sand across the Oceano Dunes. A spectacular evening where I admittedly struggled at times to find compelling compostions.
Winding Dunes
A different perspective on the Mesquite sand dunes. The U-shape in the middle of the photo and the faint mountian peak in the background are my favorite aspects of this shot.
Swirl
Sunset from the Oceano Dunes. This evening was especially warm and peaceful as I meandered the dunes.
Dark Skies
Interesting contrast between to sand catching bright sunlight and the storm in the distance.
Parallels
The symmetry between the central dune and mountain in the background drew me in. Shot from Death Valley NP.
Intersection
I love the sweeping dunes and intersection of light and dark as the different layers catch light.
Double Dune
A more simplistic view of the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes.
